Marikay Peter Witlock
Chicago Area native Marikay Peter Witlock earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in painting and drawing from Millikin University, Decatur, IL followed by graduate studies in studio arts and art history at the Universities of Georgia and Maryland. Since the 1980’s her work has been featured in over twenty-five solo shows including exhibitions at the prestigious Arts Club of Washington, Washington DC and The Union League Club of Chicago. Witlock’s artwork is represented in more than 400 corporate and private collections throughout the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions. In 2002 Witlock was selected as Artist-In-Residence, Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. Her pastel interpretation of the Indiana Dunes won the 2003 Allied Artists of America Award at the Pastel Society of America’s Annual Exhibition in New York City. Her most current artwork is available through The Illinois Artisans’ Shop, Chicago, Illinois, and Union Street Gallery, Chicago Heights, Illinois. Her Chicago Heights studio at Union Street Gallery is open to the public by appointment.
